Frosty Snow Management crew clearing heavy snow from a roof

About Frosty Snow Management

A Capital Region snow and ice contractor based in Troy, working the same storms our customers are trying to get through.

Who we are

Frosty Snow Management is a snow and ice management contractor based at 56 Joseph St in Troy, New York, serving 32 municipalities across six Capital Region counties. We handle plowing, roof snow removal, salting, sidewalk clearing and 24/7 emergency storm response for homes, businesses and property management portfolios.

Most snow removal complaints are not about equipment. They are about a contractor who did not show up when they said they would, pushed snow somewhere that caused a bigger problem, or could not be reached at 5 AM when it actually mattered. We built this business around fixing those three things.

That starts before the first flake. Every property we take on gets a site walk in autumn, where we map the driveway or lot, mark hazards, stake soft edges, and agree where the snow gets stacked for the whole season rather than for the first storm. It sounds like a small thing. It is the difference between a driveway that still works in February and one that has narrowed to a single lane with piles blocking the garage.

During the season, properties sit on fixed routes with consistent crews. The operator clearing your driveway in February has been there since November and knows the property. Service triggers automatically at the contracted depth, normally two inches, so nobody has to call, text or wonder whether the message got through.

We also cap our route capacity on purpose. It is straightforward to sign every property that calls in October, and it is impossible to service them all during a fourteen inch storm. Overselling routes is the single most common reason property owners end up standing in a driveway at 7 AM calling a contractor who is not answering. We would rather turn work away in autumn than fail people in January.

What Makes the Difference in February

Planned before the season

Site walks, hazard marking and agreed stacking areas in autumn, so nothing is improvised in the dark at 4 AM.

Automatic trigger service

At the contracted depth your route runs. No calls, no texts, no wondering whether you are on the list.

Consistent crews

Fixed routes mean the same operator all winter, who already knows your property rather than seeing it for the first time mid-storm.

Walking surfaces first

Sidewalks, steps, entries and accessible routes are contracted work, not a favour done at the end if there is time.

Documented visits

Time-stamped records of what was done, when, and what material was applied. That record is what defends a claim.

Honest timing

During a major storm we give a realistic window. A contractor promising everyone thirty minutes in a fourteen inch event is lying to all of them.

Homes, Businesses and Portfolios

Our residential customers include households where snow removal genuinely is not optional. Older homeowners who should not be out with a shovel, nurses and hospital staff on shift schedules that do not bend around weather, families where both parents leave before daylight, and people managing a parent's property from another state.

On the commercial side we work with retail plazas, restaurants, medical and dental practices, warehouses, apartment complexes and property management companies with portfolios spread across several towns. Those clients need documentation as much as they need plowing, because a slip and fall claim is defended with records rather than recollections.

About Frosty Snow Management

We operate out of 56 Joseph St, Troy, NY 12180. Being based in Troy gives Rensselaer and Albany county properties the shortest response times in our coverage area, and it means our crews know the hills and the streets rather than following a map.

Yes. We carry commercial general liability coverage and can provide a certificate of insurance, including naming your entity as additional insured where a lease, contract or lender requires it. Request it during quoting rather than in January.

We cap route capacity deliberately rather than signing everyone who calls. A contractor who oversells their routes cannot service them during a fourteen inch storm, and that is exactly when the commitment matters. It is also why routes close before the season starts.

Yes, that is the point of fixed routes. The operator who clears your property in February already knows where the septic lid is, where the pavement drops off and which side you want snow stacked, because they have been there since November.

We mark hazards at the pre-season site walk and stake soft edges specifically to prevent it. If something does get damaged, we document it and make it right rather than arguing about it in April. That is what the insurance is for.

Yes. Multi-site contracts with a single point of contact and per-property service documentation are a significant part of our commercial work, and we are set up for owners and managers with portfolios spread across several towns.
