Snow management is not one job. Plowing a lot, clearing a set of steps by hand, pulling load off a roof and timing a salt application before a freezing rain event are four different disciplines, and a property usually needs all of them.

Learn moreYes. Plenty of properties contract plowing only, salting only, or sidewalk clearing only. Standalone ice control is common with facilities that own a plow but cannot store and spread bulk material, and standalone sidewalk work suits properties whose lot is handled in house.
The usual combination is driveway plowing plus walkway and step clearing, with ice melt on graded properties. Roof snow removal is added during heavy winters or on homes with a history of ice dams.
Plowing, sidewalk and entrance clearing, and salting, itemized as three separate line items. Property managers and insurers prefer this because it documents precisely what was performed on each visit.
A combined contract is generally more efficient than contracting the same work piecemeal, because one crew visit covers multiple surfaces. We quote the actual scope rather than applying a fixed bundle discount.
Whatever keeps people upright. If you have to choose, walkways, steps and entrances matter more than a perfectly cleared lot, because that is where falls and claims actually originate.
